Recycle City

The U.S. EPA wanted a poster to educate kids about waste management. We created Recycle City, formerly Dumptown, where residents cleaned up their act and transformed their wasteland into a model of reclamation. We migrated the poster to an interactive web site, complete with SIM City-like games, and populated it with Recycle citizens and locales drawn by San Francisco Chronicle cartoonist, Phil Frank.

The site was named one of Yahoo’s and Popular Science’s top sites. Used in classrooms throughout the U.S., it has attracted visitors from around the world, including the Philippines, Brazil, India, and throughout Europe. Bosnia recently debuted an adapted localized version.
